Our Veterinary Internist
Meet Whitney Nelson, DVM Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
Dr. Nelson received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Washington State University. From veterinary school Dr. Nelson completed a small animal rotation internship at Cornell University. Following her internship she spent three years specializing in Internal Medicine with a residency at Texas A&M University. After becoming board certified in 2012, Dr. Nelson took a position in Connecticut helping to shape the internal medicine service before returning to Texas A&M University as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
Dr. Nelson is board certified in small animal internal medicine (DACVIM) and enjoys all of the challenging aspects of Internal Medicine with special interest in feline medicine cases, immune mediated disease, hepatobiliary disease and gastroenterology.
Having earned her undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University, Dr. Nelson has always been a Zag fan and is happy to be closer to her family. In her free time she, and her husband, enjoy spoiling their Labrador Suzie. They are excited to explore what the Pacific Northwest has to offer and join the established Internal Medicine family at the Pet Emergency center.
